Stewart is an author based in Ottawa, Canada. He began his career in film and video production, working as a scriptwriter, director, cameraman and editor. His work was nominated for Gemini and CASBY awards and won accolades from the Yorkton Film Festival, the New York Film & Television Festival, the Mercury Awards (New York) and the Canadian Film and Television Association. Since 1998, he has focused solely on writing. He is a senior writer with Stiff, an Ottawa communications agency. His first surviving work of fiction is The Cutting Room —the first book in the Whittaker Mystery series.
Stewart is a member of the Canadian Authors Association, Crime Writers of Canada, Capital Crime Writers, and Ottawa Independent Writers.
